Student Ambassadors

Meet our student ambassadors!

Ambassadors are current students who are advocates for the Agricultural Technology Program. These students embody the university motto, Ut Prosim, that I may serve. They play an important role in our Open House events, and often represent the program on and off campus at recruiting and networking events. These students can help answer questions about classes and campus, and help prospective students and their families feel welcomed.

"I chose Ag Tech because of the hands-on learning and the fact that every class is directly relevant to the industry—no Gen eds or electives required. I also love the small class sizes, which are completely different from the large classes you would get with a four-year program. Here, I know everyone in my classes and have personal connections with my instructors, which is amazing, especially since I came from a small school. It is great to feel truly cared for and pushed to excel by my close peers and instructors in college. I wanted to be an ambassador to help promote this program and assist others in finding this amazing opportunity."

"I chose the Agricultural Technology Program because I wanted to develop not only my agronomic skills, but my professional skills as well. This program is unique because the instructors genuinely care about both of these skills that I came here for. They provide a hands-on approach learning strategy to strengthen our skills and I would recommend this program to individuals who are both well experienced, or looking from the outside in to the turfgrass industry.  I became an Agricultural Technology ambassador to not only promote the program, but show the possibilities that students have being apart of Virginia Techs only two-year program. As a passionate student of turfgrass, I wanted to have an opportunity to share that passion with potential students. The turfgrass industry as whole is a unique career path and I believe that the Agricultural Technology is the right start for any driven individual who wants to be a prominent figure in the future of turfgrass."
