“Although I have been teaching for several years, I will never consider myself an expert because there is always more to learn, both with industry knowledge and teaching style. I am mindful that not all students learn the same way. Furthermore, not all students come to college with the same amount of preparation and level of skill. I strive to adapt my teaching style to change as necessary in order to accommodate the ways in which my students learn and provide them with the opportunity to excel.  Mastery of the course material and related skills is obviously important—communication of that knowledge is essential, not only in the classroom but for any career the student chooses after graduating. Communication between students and teachers outside the classroom is vital.  I think it important to accommodate students, as often as possible, whose schedules may be filled with personal and professional obligations.  An open door policy allows students the opportunity to stop by at their convenience and while the professor may not be available for more than a few minutes, the one on one contact is invaluable.”
