We are excited to announce that in recognition of his teaching, advising, and service, Wesley Gwaltney, crop science instructor and advisor, was approved for promotion to advanced instructor at the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors summer meeting. Wesley joined the Agricultural Technology Program in 2014. He teaches Grain Crops Management, Forages and Animal Forage Systems, Precision Agriculture Data Management, Nutrient Management Planning, Feeds and Feeding, and Intro to Plant Biology and Chemistry courses. Wesley also serves as academic advisor for students in the Applied Agricultural Management option with a crop science interest.  Instructors must make strong, positive cases in the application for promotion, which includes a minimum number of years of service for each promotion level.
