Turfgrass students practice UT Prosim while gaining valuable hands-on experience

First-year Agricultural Technology students were able to put into practice what they learned in their Fundamentals in Turfgrass Management course while serving the community. Belmont Christian Church needed help with establishing a new lawn. Students worked with their instructor, Jon Dickerson, and industry professionals in the fall semester to complete the installation as part of the lab component of the course.   

Steve Grahm and Matt Rexrode with Beverage Tractor assisted with the installation while they demonstrated their Ventrac with AERA-vator attachment. Turf-type tall fescue seed, fertilizer, compost, and staw growth blankets were donated by Landscape Supply, Inc. in Roanoke, VA. We are thankful for the industry support given to help the students apply their new knowledge and skills!
